I have to admit, having grown up in Detroit, I have a soft spot for well-drawn working class characters. Here, a Canadian postal worker by day is an aspiring mud wrestler by night. She dreams of reaching competitive heights in Vegas, but is playing a waiting game as a recent (but not exactly grieving) widow. Suddenly, her life takes a disastrous turn when she meets a rather unpleasant woman who is bent on exploiting the young widow's fortune or misfortune. I found the novella funny and entertain ...more
