Yes, prepare yourself, the book goes much more in depth in European/Swedish political arena than the movie. Gritty, graphic and horrifying in turns, it takes you on a thrill ride that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

The perfect beginning to a new series.
An engrossing read - I enjoyed mental images of a snowy Scandinavian Hedeby Island, before the heaviness of the drama set in.
I decided to pick this book up again so that I could remind myself of all the characters and details before reading the two latest books. I was very glad to read this book once again, and be just as captivated the second time as the first.
