The best synopsis I can come up with: it's one person's story about their understanding of and relationship with their black body.
This one has had long library waiting lists since it came out, which was a convenient excuse for me to wait to read it. People kept saying it was a "must read." I finally had the time to read this book, with everything going on currently in the world, I needed a break from it. This certainly was not the book I should have selected for "a break from reality", but that's a decision I made. It's a book that deserves a better review than I'm about to give it, but these are my first impressions. I understand completely where the author is coming from, and why he chose to write this book.
