My problem with this book is Meyer's insistence on portraying Bella - a perfectly interesting, worthwhile character in her own right, as a snivelling, whining weakling, who can't do anything without a man around. Her obsession with Edward, and her repeated interludes where she weighs her own self worth on the altar of whether Edward likes her or not and on this, the third book of it, my patience for Bella is VERY thin. One big wild wow for this one. Stephenie has delivered brilliantly again. She flirts with truly dark writing only to spin it away when Bella stomps her foot in anger. I figuratively burned to race through the pages of this very compelling story. And.. I like Edward more than Jacob. My wife prefers Jacob. Go figure. Just something about Edward's cool demeanor speaks to me. Who knows? This is an excellent yarn I would recommend to anyone. I read this book in two days while my wife was running her

I finally finished Eclipse and I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed. The fact that it took me a week and a half to read it should say something about how much less I loved it than the first two.
There is a great story inside this book. There are intense emotions and characters who are neither good nor evil - and characters who take action for selfish and selfless reasons. There should be a lot to love about where this story went.

Again, I devoured this book in one day. I'm enchanted by the innocence of the love between the characters (physically) in comparison to the darkness of the story.
I wish I could prolong this book and I wish there was more resolution to Bella's physical relationship with Edward - but since it's considered YA I understand the hesitancy.
For now. At some point even teenagers progress beyond kissing...
