[close] Why are we reading “Abundance”?

Basically, I’m an optimist. I’ve been working on the idea of Elevators in Space for 11 years now. I’m 44, so 25% of my life has been dedicated to this pursuit. I wanted the first book we read - as a group - to be something inspiring about the future, about the fact those ‘things are good’, and they are getting better.

My small team at LiftPort is taking an active role in making the world better.

Steven Kotler and Peter Diamandis use their book “Abundance” to let us know that despite the headlines, that things are better than they’ve ever been, and that the global standard of living continues to rise. They use current, relevant, facts to illuminate this perspective.
I think that’s something that our team needs – to know that other people in the world are also taking an active role in making things better. Also, I think we should have a global view on ‘what happens next’.

I hope this book will give us that information.
