Thankfully, I was not disappointed by Bloodlines. Except for one of the revelations, the one about Jill and Adrian, I was completely shocked by the revelations and loved how the plot of the story slowly moved along.

I divided this book into two distinct parts:

Part 1: The introduction of the characters and revealing the reality of their new life. This part was the majority of the book.

Thankfully, I was not disappointed by Bloodlines. Except for one of the revelations, the one about Jill and Adrian, I was completely shocked by the revelations and loved how the plot of the story slowly moved along.

I divided this book into two distinct parts:

Part 1: The introduction of the characters and revealing the reality of their new life. This part was the majority of the book.

Part 2: The exciting ending where mysteries are revealed and the story starts becoming addicting. After I finished this book, I became desperate for the sequel because the book series started to provide non-stop action. The last few chapters of this book are awesome. I enjoyed the fighting scene and liked how Sydney was not all of a sudden an amazing fighter, but was a novice. I liked how realistic this book is.

The first part receives three stars and the last part earns five stars, so I decided to give this book four stars. Three stars means that I admired the writing and enjoyed the introduction, but would not want to re-read that part of the book too many times. When I want to re-read this book, I tend to start at the exciting part when Adrian and Sydney go to Nevermore to explore.

I enjoy Sydney’s point of view because she is an observer trying to understand how to be sociable and is naive but is working on changing. Sometimes, I feel like her in social situations. I often encounter social events were I feel there are rules everyone knows, that I am completely clueless about. I like how easily I can relate to Sydney.

Mead's flawless writing ability and my desire to read one more Adrian jokes, laugh at one more Adrian mishap, admire one more intelligent Adrian tangents keeps me reading. I like how he was realistically heartbroken in this book and felt sorry for him. Adrian will always remain my top Book Boyfriend because of his loyalty, surprising cleverness, hilarious jokes and his charismatic personality. I like how realistically heartbroken he was this book and felt sorry for him. I am so thrilled that he gets to be a main character in both series!

Take that Dmitri Belikov! You can have Rose, but you do not get to be the main character in two series!

The Vampire Academy series focused on the class struggles between the Moroi, the good vampires and the dhampir, the half-human and half-vampire protectors of the Moroi from Stirgoi, the evil, soulless vampires. This book told another side of the story. It illustrated the reaction of clueless humans to vampires and reassured the Alchemist distasteful attitude towards vampires.

Overall, I am extremely amazed at the excellent storyline that was begun at the end of this book! I am excited to see how a certain discovery finally ends an ensuing conflict that is central to the Vampire Academy world. What I love most about this book is how lightbulbs keep running around my head with marvelous theories, as I wait anxiously for the next book!

I can’t wait for the Golden Lily! I wish I could read it right now!

I have no idea what rating to give this book because

1. I had low expectations for this book (The cover is stupid and it's a popular YA vampire book ~ usually I want to throw those across the room.

2. Those expectations were surpassed. So I almost want to give this book tons of good ratings, but then maybe not because it might just be that most other YA vampire books awoke the crazy violent person in me. And this one didn't.
