I can never forget the first time I picked up a Tolkien novel - never. I was only thirteen, but I read through the entire Lord of the Rings Trilogy, appendixes included, in just eight days. Bilbo is tricked into trudging off into the unknown terror with a fluctuating number of irritating dwarves who repeatedly put him and themselves in life threatening situations. Sounds terrible doesn't it? Well I'm sure as hell that Bilbo didn't think that this was any vacation to some sunny tropical island. But is one hell of a compilation of craziness, with our intro to Gollum and his bipolar, identity switching,psychopathic serial killing, personalities.

BLOWWWN AWAY!
the Hobbit was everything i expected and much, much more- adventure, action, comedy, and beautifully told :) definitely one of my favourites!
I'll miss all my dwarvish friends, but hopefully i'll hear more of them in LOTR- next up!
this classic is great for people of all ages- it was originally written for Tolkien's children, but grew quickly into a classic for everyone. i'm so glad i read it and i can't wait to endeavour into the further adventures of Tolkien's lively clan :)
