I'm going to start off by saying that I 100% agree with the statement that this beautiful gem of a novel is a perfect cross between Eleanor and Park & The Fault In Our Stars, yet it is still original in every single way.

Once again, reading the authors note made me appreciate this gem even more because of the thought that went into it. You can tell it is highly personal to the author.

It wasn't until the end that I realised how much I loved this. It just got better and better as I wen

What this book deals with is so crucially important in a world where a suicide occurs every 40 seconds. I had this book sitting at a 3 star rating for most of the book. I think the last 15% or so earned it an extra star for what was a very respectful dealing of a tragic issue.
I found Finch a little over the top through this story and full of teen drama that annoyed the hell out of me. Manic probably summed him up better however, in which case the endless ranting was fitting.
Not sure how this was likened to TFIOS by so many when it ran as a merge between Looking for Alaska and Paper Towns to me.

Up until the last four chapters this was toeing the one star pile but it redeemed itself thankfully.
