I like the way City of Bones began, but I also love this extra scene. It also kind of hints at where his powers come from... and well, never read anything from Jace's perspective before!!

I'd never liked Jace all that much, but this short little read changes a lot. He's such a softie! I would so like to read more from his POV :D

Didn't really plan on picking this one up after my "What the heck am I doing with my life?" experience with second Infernal Devices book, but Jordan really likes this series. So I suppoes for his sake I'll read it.

Jace is one of my favorite characters ever. But...I was so upset at the bro/sis thing. No spoilers...but I loved the entire series and could take another five books just to hear Jace make another comment or two. That's my kind of sass in a man.

City of Bones is the first in the Mortal Instruments series. For young adult fiction it was really well-written. The description is intricate enough that you are able to picture the novel in your mind, as if it were a movie, but it's not burdensome to where there is more description than plot. This is no Twilight rip-off. In fact, I applaud Clare for keeping the romance interesting enough but minimal - this book is more action- and mystery-filled than a tweenager love story.

I thought I was really going to love this book and I did in the beginning but the end of the book totally crushed the whole book for me and I know there are more books in the series but I don't know if I will read them or not :(
