Esta obra é fantástica e assim se prova que os spoilers não conseguem estragar uma boa história, se ela for contada duma forma tão magnífica como a autora conseguiu fazer! A escrita é excelente e eu vi-me a ficar acordada até horas impróprias, como já não me acontecia há muito tempo.

Já tinha lido uma versão juvenil na adolescência (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...) e vi um filme há poucos anos (o de 2011), mas nada se compara à experiência de ler o original, (review in English below)

Gostei imenso, só roubei meia estrela por causa das constantes citações, a maioria da Bíblia e sobretudo na segunda metade do livro, que me cansaram um bocado. E também porque o final (os últimos parágrafos, também com muitas citações, mesmo até ao fim) é sobre outra personagem que não Jane ou Mr. Rochester. Depois de ter passado o dia todo à espera do momento em que iria voltar a pegar no livro para ler o último capítulo, dispensava esta parte.

Recomendado a todos os que gostam de ler!

This is a great work and it proves that spoilers cannot ruin a good story, when it's told in such a magnificent way as the author managed to do! The writing is excellent and I found myself reading away into the next day, which was something that had not happened to me in a long time.

I had read a juvenile adaptation of this book in my teens and saw a movie a few years ago (the 2011 version), but nothing compares to the experience of reading the original work.

I enjoyed immensely and didn't give it the full 5 stars only because the amount of quotes, mostly from the Bible and mainly in the second half of the book, that bored me a little. And also because the end (the final paragraphs, also full of quotes, right until the end) is about a character other than Jane or Mr. Rochester. After spending the entire day waiting for that moment when I would pick up the book again to read the last chapter, I could do without this part.

Anyway, I recommend this to anyone who loves reading! ...more

I thought Jane Eyre would be a dull and boring reading but I was completely wrong. Although it is a slow reading (if you are not english native), the story itself is compelling and interesting. I love the cat and mice game between jane and mr. rochester, despite his arrogance. I love the little comments and discussions that the author tells and the "talk" with the reader. It is a love story though, of a highly independent woman, well ahead of time for her time, that lives by her beliefs but stil ...more

The first time I read Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre it was quite a few years ago. I read the original first (an insufferable old library copy!) and then a few Portuguese translations, which left me entirely satisfied – at least as much a book you love should, even though it ends at some point and you wish it didn’t. I enjoyed a lot this story. The fact I liked the most was Jane's personality. She is very strong, even with all her problems and troubles since her early age.
She is a winner, a passionate young woman, full of life. She knows what she wants, she knows what to she has to do, even if that makes her sad.
Great book, with a strong story line, white strong characters.

I JUST LOVED THIS BOOK! It's like.. so perfect! It's about a little girl who is hated by her family and so she is sent to a college. There she sees her only friend die..

I could talk so much but I don't want to ruin your thoughts! I just.. READ IT, PLEASE! It's SO AMAZING... If you already read it I advise you to see BBC's adaptation but it's the 2006! I already saw the 2006 and took a look in 2011 but I guarantee, the 2006 it's better. It's the better adaptation I've seen! ...more
