What Members Thought
Fairly realistic novel about the lives of some people in WWI-era Essex. Gardening & oystering are discussed quite a bit. The second half improves the book a lot as Aveline Brown's past catches up with her and some other character begins to plot something nasty. Wasn't a great read for me but I could tell Phillpotts did his research on Brittlingsea & Colchester.
