What Members Thought
I have no desire to lay into this book in a way that would disgust my Darcy-obsessed English teachers BUT I do really dislike this book and that's not just because I've had to study it. I do not think that this is tat or badly written or awful. I am sure that this is a good book of the time. But that is my problem. I wish I had read this sooner.
This the first Jane Austen book I've read and I absolutely loved it. It was charming, funny and romantic with a touch of scandal and class. It was a beautiful love story although I have now high expectations of finding my own Mr Darcy! I fell in love with some of the characters immediately and filled me with the enjoyment I have when I think of the era it was written in. I would highly recommend this book.
