Hamlet is the 15th of Shakespeare's works we've read together as part of the #UpstartCrows2023 Shakespeare Readalong.
It's virtually impossible to review Hamlet! I suspect it's one of the most studied texts in the English Speaking world and I doubt my thoughts would add anything uniquely insightful to the discourse already out there!
Instead here's a summary, in Horatio's words, of what to expect going in:

Unpopular opinion time. I don't like Shakespeare. Or plays in general really.
I am not a person who finds beauty in the structure of prose (exception, Maya Angelou because bae has rhythm!). I really don't care about iambic pentameter or any of that crap.
In truth, plays always feel too shallow to me. I never feel like I connect to the characters in the same way I do when reading, say, an 800 page Dickens novel. And when I don't connect, I just don't care.
