I enjoyed reading most of this book. I found some of the romantic encounters with Leon towards to end a bit tedious and longed for the story to get going again. I found the ending very sad and my heart went out to both Bovary's. I'm glad I read the book and I'm not surprised the author got arrested for writing this book as it is very scandalous for the time!
