This is an interesting book for the way it was written. It must have been a painstaking task to write phonetically, keeping in mind the character’s limited vocabulary and exposure.
It was boring in parts when the author dwells repeatedly on themes of rape & abuse but may be it was the reality of those times. The book spans across a lifetime of stories and journeys and there is so much learning from that. I think one of my favorite character was Sofia!
