Absolutely delightful read. The characters are built slowly and meticulously, and, as they say, the types of literature we enjoy tends to change over time.
I can't say I loved it from the first few pages, but I still gave it time and I did eventually fall in love with it. It is a classical book and so it is written in an older version of English, sprinkled with lots of sarcasm and irony - just my cup of tea.

Overall I enjoyed it but it was much too long-winded at parts. I have to admit to skim read most of the last third of the book. I understand the satire, I get the vanities but does that mean every character must end up deplorable? I dunno. I would have liked it more if it was 200 pages shorter
