What Members Thought
Some people grow, and others make you grow with them ! Pi had that effect on me.
I don’t know what the intended lessons of the book were but this is what I learned.
*A journey inward is what is needed in times of excruciating materialism.
*Love is a lesson you learn in times of bliss to find later in times of despair.
*Any knowledge you acquire will be called upon sooner or later, so be greedy for knowledge, and for life’s small details.

my second reading.
This wasn't a terrible book, but I was expecting something more extravagant. For one, the fact that it took almost 100 pages to even get into the story was dreadful. Not that it took a long time to read, but I just wanted to get to the meat of the book. I feel like there could've been more excitement through the lifeboat journey. Pi's story didn't have a 'proper' ending which somewhat irritated me.. - this majestic tale deserves a proper curtain call!
I want to know more about the tiger
I miss the main religious theme of the book. Might reread the beginning because of it. ...more

While the book started out slow, I really enjoyed how the imagination kept my mind moving. Well written in simple terms that allow you to feel the salt in your skin, to taste the blood of your cracked lips, and to see the vastness of the sea around you. Great for all ages.
