I'm in two minds about how I feel about this book. I couldn't put it down and I found it quite disturbing in places but at the same time I kind of feel that a bunch of little boys under the age of 12 would be a bit more homesick and wouldn't be able to cook, hunt and build shelters as well as they managed to. However, it was an interesting concept and utterly terrifying in places. The story shows how powerful the human mind is, especially when it comes down to fear. I'm glad I've read it but I'm

Lord of the Flies is a dystopian novel by Nobel Prize-winning English author William Golding about a group of British boys stuck on an uninhabited island who try to govern themselves with disastrous results. A superb book.

The effect, unforgettable.

An enjoyable classic that explores the savagery humans can be pushed to when subjected to extreme limits and how society can fall apart without governing and structure. It is a story that holds up well over time and still remains both enjoyable and relevant.
Overall, an enjoyable read with terrifying events surrounding a range of characters.
