This will always be my favorite Austen. She holds a mirror up to life and depicts characters that one can imagine living with. Her character's emotions are acutely captured. And then there is the characteristic Austen wit and charm. And added bonus is a beautiful love story.

This is romantic classic; two people meet – separate – and then meet again after eight years. The booked touches on love, loss, social position and family relations.
It is a good story, well written, the main characters Annie and Wentworth are relatable.

What strikes me the most, after reading Persuasion for the second time, is how relevant Captain Wentworth's letter remains also nowadays, how that depth of feeling echoes inside the reader, mingling perfectly with any idea or recollection of love. A timeless classic, chicken soup for the hungry soul.

Another brilliant book by Jane Austen. I enjoyed it almost as much as Pride and Prejudice. It is beautifully written (as are all of her books) and never failed to bring a smile to my face. Anne Elliot is a beautiful character and I'm so glad she finally got the man of her dreams in the end.

Save yourself $7 and do not download the audiobook narrated be Peta Johnson. I couldn't make it past 10 min - she read it so fast and without inflection or pause to indicate a new sentence. Instead I downloaded Jane Eyre narrated by Lucy Scott & she's fabulous.
