I wasn’t really sure I wanted to read this book as last year I had read “War and Peace” and found it quite difficult to get through. But I am glad I read this book as it was completely different.
This book was a love story, a family saga and about class structures. It was also about the difference in the way society behaved with Anna (their intolerance for her having left her husband for a man she loved) as against her brother (who had multiple affairs).

Ok, just a short review. I really liked this book; it was interesting and fascinating. It is 5 stars for sure. I liked most of the characters except Anna and Stiva. They were the reason for the constant irritation while I was reading the book.

Anna Karenina is a long book, but despite its length manages to perfectly balance every character and their ongoing storylines without ever feeling like a drag.
