Not to look like a fool but oh my god the majority of this book was so tedious.
I mean in theory, thematically and all it's a pretty cool and interesting book but the execution of it I just can't handle.
I'm kinda aware that all the problems I have with this book can all be dismissed as the elusive literary Point. But the redundancy, the repetition, the banality I could have dealt with and maybe even respected if not for the sheer size of this book. I actually hope to reread this again one day, p ...more

This is definitely in my top 10 of books I have ever read. Dostoyevski has the tendency to be dull, until you get into the story. I love the way he develops the characters, giving them shape and depth. I am sorry I finished reading it, although I have been trying to read it by bits, so that I can enjoy it longer.
Will definitely read it again, in a few years time. And am not giving up on the hardcopy, as it is one that I'd like to hold on to. ...more
