I thought the writing in this novel was extremely good which, along with incredibly interesting characters, was the only reason I finished the story. The idea of time travel was so ludicrous that I felt suspended in my reading and was unable to immerse myself in the lives of the characters. I think this story could have been told in nearly the same way without the ridiculous time travel angle and then I would have given it more stars.
A slow start, but was pretty good once it got underway. When I first picked up the book, I was concerned that the jump in time would make it a difficult read, but I was wrong.
