I was disappointed. I saw a resemblance in the characters of between holden and Miles from "Looking for alaska" although holden was more melodramatic. His consistent use of several expressions throughout the book such as "it killed me" or adding "and all" to end of almost every sentence he uttered somewhat grabbed my attention.
