it was great - I will read more by this author. I thought the subject matter may get too "heavy", but I was so involved with the characters this wasn't a downside at all. Very well done character development and storyline. I learned more about life in that part of the world as well.

I loved this book. It could get a bit depressing at times,. The story was so beautifully written that you feel like Mariam and Laila are your friends too. I couldn't put this book down and when I had to (you know to go to work and stuff) I couldn't stop thinking about it.
