I strongly urge anyone and everyone to take up this inspiring and informative autobiography. Koofi succeeds in depicting the harrowing events of her life and country, as well as addressing the many misperceptions that Westerns may have about the Muslim culture, effectively shedding light on the dichotomy between the values of Afghanistan and Islam, and the extremist provincialism generated by the Taliban.
