Good Lord, I tell nearly everyone to read this book. Yes, at first the triple whammy of the climate/energy/population crisis seems too large to even try to solve - but Tom Friedman's plain down-to-earth sensibility and optimism makes it worthwhile. I've always enjoyed reading his editorials because they are so logically laid out in plain sight. The novel version is no exception. Redundant, perhaps, but he drives the point home. I loved this book! Doesn't skimp on the fact that turning the climate problem around will take some hard work, but in the same way as Deep Economy shows that it is definitely do-able and really not all that painful. I like the emphasis on what a great opportunity this can be ... highly recommended! ...more

Thomas L Friedman explains real reasons why "going green" is important to everyone living on this planet, present and future. He gives good examples of why changing our way of thinking and acting towards the planet must change.

It's not just about global warming, or saving some endangered animal on the other side of the world. What we do every day, and how we do it impact us in ways that most people don't even think about.
