This book was very different than what I had anticipated. I thought that it was going to be a celebration of a comic's life on the road and full of tales of interactions with the famous and super famous. I was wrong. Martin comes across as a sincere, intelligent man who takes his comedy and writing seriously. ...more

This book might be better appropriate for those who were alive and aware of Steve Martin as a stand up comic in the late 70s. There were a couple of cheesy moments, but otherwise a concise, funny, and endearing autobiography. I listened the audiobook, and I highly recommend you read the book this way (Martin reads the book himself). Great fun.
