I remember the powerful emotion this book gave me when i read it. This book's psychological and existential examination of one man's and a rodent's tragic journey. It really can if possible, if you allow it make you or teach you compassion for the least among us from a perspective that you rarely don't see.

Conflicting thoughts on this one. I also read the abridged short story version in middle school, and the premise of the book and the emotion conveyed in the diary entries has always stayed with me.
