I understand the Swedish title translates into the The Men Who Hate Women. That is a more appropriate title. Though, I would imagine such a title would hurt sales in England and the USA. Each part has a statistic regarding violence against women in Sweden. I was not quite prepared for this. A very faithful to the book movie would be NC-17.

I must not be drawn to books with a yellow cover. That's my only explanation for why I checked this book out of the library three times before I got around to reading it. Oh sure, I read all of the fabulous reviews that have been coming out for about a year. Swedish Dan Brown. I enjoyed it. Started Monday morning. Finished this morning (I was on holiday at Santa Barbara, so that helped to clear 450 pages). It's descriptions are graphic (Very). What I didn't like was that Mikael Blomkvist was this suave womanizer without trying, yet, the story was about abusing and murdering women in very gruesome ways. I'm not really sure what connection I'm making but it does not sit well with me. Besides that, I look forward to reading "The Girl Who Played With Fi

Despite what I read, the beginning wasn't even slow for me; I loved the book from the beginning and had me mesmerized. Just when one thinks the mystery is solved, another twist in the mystery.

A fun thriller. Definite page turner. The main character appeared to be the author's fantasy-self and it was funny to see what he thought a cool guy was like/would do.

May be better as audio. Loved it both ways.
