This was an excellent short read. Justice Stevens has been on the court for about 35 years. His legacy is long, interesting, and depending one's political views, impressive. Though appointed by Republican President Gerald Ford, by some measures Stevens ended up as the most liberal justice on the Court. In this book Stevens does not hide his legal opinions, but he also offers a fantastic overview of the history of the Court, how it works, and what his recounting of working with five chief justice
