If Stephen Colbert says that James Martin is ok, then James Martin is ok! :)
Seriously, tho - a book about finding and keeping joy in your heart, whether you are a Catholic or not - something I know I needed to hear (read) and something that I think more of us need to consider. Joy is different than happiness and is something that we can have with us at all times - which Martin shows by personal stories and accumulated wisdom. A not to heavy spiritual read. Father Martin encourages levity and joyfulness in our prayer lives. He gives examples of humor in both the bible and in his life - sometimes through jokes and sometimes through humorous stories. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading from the bibliography included in the back of the book and additional works from Father Martin. (Father Martin is the official pastor of The Colbert Report although I learned of this book from Morning Joe.)
