I started out thinking this book would be awesome. A love triangle and murder to open a story of political scandal? Sweet! But then the book quickly gets bogged down with names and allegiances that are hard to follow. I like nonfiction history books, but honestly, I got tired of this one and never completely finished it. Just didn't have the fortitude. Maybe it was summer laziness? I found other, lighter fare more appealing.
