A fantastic overview of race relations in 1960's NYC. The book tells the interconnecting stories of George Whitmore, the Black Panther Party, Malcolm X, the Nation of Islam, NYPD corruption (Bill Phillips), race riots, the Black Liberation Army, and Dhoruba Bin Wahad. Well written, researched, engaging and reflective on the era.
