Not quite a biography, but a life story of Lincoln's encounters with slavery. Of course, he is known as the Great Emancipator, but like all humans and serious issues, the story is more complicated and not always as pleasant as we wish it was. Lincoln was better than most of his contemporaries on the issue of slavery, but never where we wished he would be from our modern sensibilities.
