My first Hiassen exposure: "Madcap" is the word that came to mind as I read this novel about two telephone solicitors, bipolar disorder, a Seminole native, a private detective, cheap sex, ghostly visages, a crab fisherman, an astute preteen boy, and a horny coed. Though I'm probably leaving something out; it's a rich tapestry of greed, mental illness, lust, and parenthood.
