I am getting a suspicious feeling these books were written in thirds. “The Strain” was really good until the last third, and then it got really boring. “The Fall” was very boring until about 40% in and then it became so very interesting. The kind of interesting where I could not go to sleep without finishing a chapter, or eventually the book. Good development, good conclusion, onto the next!
