This memoir is a testament to the human spirit under the most horrific of circumstances. It was my privilege to hear Elie Wiesel speak on several occasions and those occasions were unforgettable. I can't count the number of times that I've recommended this book to friends. It's not a book that I will ever be able to forget.

I was rereading this book for the class I was teaching that was also reading it, and ooops, end-of-the-year things crept up on me and I didn't finish it until Sunday night.
I don't know why I haven't reviewed this book before. I've certainly read it before. It's tragic and heartrending, that's for sure.
