Well written, quick but informative read on the what was happening inside the system as the financial system was approaching catastrophe in the mid-2000s. One does not need a great economic background to read this book as it is extremely accessible to the general population, and does a good job of explaining the important terms that play a role in the story, especially CDOs and what they really are. It wasn't too tough to read - even though I still didn't quite fully understand what everything meant - but then again, I really don't think Wall Street does either. What made this nonfiction book bearable was how it was told through the eyes of the characters that bet against the actual machine itself; a personality-driven story is much easier to read than a Bloomberg headline.
