Robert Dallek used the availablity of newly open archives to help flesh out the relationship between Nixon and his National Security Adviser, and later Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger. Both men were driven, paranoid, arrogant, and were hunry for both power and control. Individually, they are interesting--together, their relationship is fascinating.
