It was after watching Obama's State of the Union address last week that finally pushed me to read this book, and I'm so glad I did. I don't want this review to be a partisan cheer for my brand of politics, but I must say how thrilled I am to finally say, with honesty and a level of personal investment I've never felt before, I am becoming proud of my country. Beautifully written, thoughtful, and candid. I read this during the 2008 campaign and marveled at the fact that this man might be our next President. Which now, of course, he is!

I read this in 2008, and decided to revisit it with the audiobook. The book was as good as I remembered, and the narration by (now) Pres. Obama was excellent! (Oh, and the bonus 2004 convention speech at the end still gives me chills...)
