I can't say this book has changed my life, but it has enhanced my view of my president. He has known racism and poverty, and has thought a lot about what that experience means for him, for our communities, and for our world. He knows what it means to be the Other.

I got an audio book of this free in an Audacity promo. It was my first foray back into audio books in years, and I'm not sure if it was the subject matter or just liking his voice, but I was much more focused than I remember being the last time I tried listening to a book.

just a really poignant, reflective memoir - searching for place and identity in the world. He's a prolific, honest writer....it was hard to put this book down and touching to be allowed to witness his personal struggles, and growing pains.
