Fascinating look into the preparations for space travel that affect everyday life, but we probably wouldn't think of without Mary Roach delving into these matters. Remember you need gravity to urinate and defecate. The book isn't all about topics which would get a junior high schooler chuckling. Very interesting told very well. The narrator was ideal. ...more

Fascinating information about life in space presented in an entertaining fashion. There were a lot of topics addressed that people never think about when they think about astronauts. Besides the cramped living quarters, there are many issues with eating, vomiting, going to the bathroom, trying to shower etc. I don't remember any of this being portrayed in the movie Space Camp. ...more
