An informative, often moving, sometimes funny, in-depth look behind the scenes at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo. Once considered one of the worst zoos in America, Lowery Park Zoo was torn down and completely rebuilt almost 20 years ago. The book opens with a description of the capture in Africa and transfer of 11 elephants to two zoos in the U.S. Quite the undertaking and I'm truly grateful that I wasn't involved in placing those elephants on airplanes and flying them across the Atlantic Ocean.
