What an intriguing history of science, the 1950s, racism, and biotech companies. Not only did I learn about who Henrietta Lacks is and why we should care, I learned a lot about how medical discoveries come about and the ethical issues that surround them. It's amazing to learn what happens to your own tissue samples after the pathoogist is done anaylyzing them (and how you likely have no rights to them if they happen to be as valuable as Henrietta's turned out to be).
