The rambling autobiographical essay format is not my favorite kind of book, but Kendi does something ingenious with it here, turning it into his confessions of misguided ideas. By saying that he believed X (e.g. black people can't be racist), but then realized that X was wrong, he can undermine all kinds of shibboleths without attacking other people. I'll be thinking about and absorbing this one for a long time. I especially appreciated the chapter on education - the racist undertones of the Gear Up scandal in SD made it real-life for me. Very much recommended.
