A great big YES! for this book. Completely fascinating while explaining to the citizens just how the sausage is made in Washington. So very nice to read of a cogent, intelligent, president who is able to make sense while putting multiple sentences together for coherent thoughts.
Yes, I was in the bag for President Obama (the first time I was voting FOR a president rather than the least objective of the two or three.) I wasn't quite as gung ho the second time, but this book helps clear up why he w ...more

I really enjoyed this book. I chose the audiobook so that I could hear his inflections, and I was not disappointed. I have also read Becoming and was fascinated with the two perspectives of some of the same stories. There were parts that were kind of dry and detailed in the political info (lots of names of people and such), but I appreciated hearing a “behind the scenes” view on events like Deepwater Horizon, the Arab Spring, and the mission to capture or kill Bin Laden. I like Obama, and I enjoyed hearing him narrate this book. But with a few exceptions, this book didn’t reveal much about the person behind the decisions he made. It was basically a recounting of the events of his presidency, but I already read that in the NY Times.
