Interesting book. No one gets insiders to talk like Woodward does. Seems clear that Mattis, Tillerson, Coates and people around them talked a lot, with little positive to say about Trump. Matthew Pottinger was one of the more interesting voices, as he worked on China and COVID for the Trump NSC. And, of course, Trump talked to Woodward for this book. Woodward, rightfully IMHO, has harsh words for Trump at the end, but clearly he used a lot of Trump’s own words to allow him to speak for himself.

The beginning of this book was a surprise and appreciated since it covered the initial notifications and awareness of COVID-19.

I heard and read a lot of good reviews of this book from people that know what they are talking about in American and International Politics. Now I am doubting if they actually read this book. While it might be nice for future scholars (if there is a future) there is nothing new here for people that lived through the Trump Era. If you paid attention to FOX, MSNBC, or even CNN you would know most of what was said here already. The information might have come from "unnamed" sources this book just
