What Members Thought
Did I read this book word for word? No, I skimmed it, but in doing so learned so many things about our recent history and the people involved. Well researched and documented.
I really liked the book, albeit at times it was dry. I knew a lot of the recent history Farrow spoke of, but I learned a lot more. It made me really dislike politicians on both sides. Is no one honest? I know I'm acting naive, but really, we vote them in on a message/platform/policy, and once in office they follow the money and/or power. Farrow did his research - he told all and didn't favor one party over the other. Enlightening yet sad and maddening.

Did not finish. Well could not finish. While there were lots of details and names and I was there in the book. There was just nothing new. I suspected a lot of what was going on by paying attention to the news (not just American news) and I was still following academic periodicals. It all ends with Trump trashing the last vestiges of American influence in the world in favor of China.
