This book started out interesting and well written. It ended up a horrible hot mess. All the stories are essentially the same, Hodgman makes claims and statements in a vague uncertain manor. He refuses to name people and then later tells the reader who they were or he names a person and later apologizes to the person or claims their name was something else to make them anonymous. The stories start with a strong premise and then kind of wanders along and abandons his thought and tells the ending

I've loved John Hodgman since I first saw him on The Daily Show as the "resident expert." Then he starred (with Justin Long) in the long-running Mac-PC commercials (he represented PC). This book is more memoir than anything he has previously written. I liked that he does not actually identify his children, his daughter is referred to as "Hodgmina." Listening to him tell the stories only enhances the experience.
