Rich people complaining about their problems is not my thing; nor is saying Yes to everything. But I try random books and this was entertainingly narrated by the author so I listened to the end. First of all, her Year of Yes involved a lot of saying NO!. Inspiring, for real. She's funny and honest, as far as I can tell. She's super successful and is a mom, but she doesn't talk down to other moms when she talks about the mom stuff. And you never forget she's a mom when you are reading her non-mom stuff. She hasn't compromised either aspect (career woman and mom) of her identity, but she makes it abundantly clear that it isn't easy. At all. This made me feel less anxious about my own balancing act.

It was recommended I listen to the audiobook of this, to hear Shonda narrate the story. I felt that her voice came across the written page well, and there was one part where she preempted what I was thinking. It was like being in a conversation with her. I'm a fan of Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder, Grey's Anatomy not as much but I've certainly watched a fair share of Grey episodes so I know who she's talking about.
